This two year course teaches you how to build dynamic websites that deliver content in a variety of formats for computers, smartphones and tablets. Initially, you’ll study client-side technologies like HTML/CSS/JavaScript and PHP to learn how to create and optimise a web page for both desktops and mobile devices. You’ll then explore the more technical aspects of a website including UX, mobile design and responsive frameworks.
The second year introduces more web design Glasgow technologies such as C#, API integration and web stacks for application development. In addition to learning how to create databases, you’ll also build a web application using JavaScript frameworks and create a working database.
Students develop their programming skills through a blend of online tutor-led classes and class room sessions at Glasgow Clyde College’s Cardonald campus. They also receive a student card which enables them to access the college’s facilities, use laptops and gain access to software and connectivity.

This course is delivered through partnership with Glasgow Clyde College, a leading Scottish institution with an excellent reputation for its digital skills courses. It can be delivered as a combination of in-person and online tutor-led classes, with three in-person sessions at the college’s Cardonald campus, with the rest of the course being taught via the internet.
Course structure
Web development Glasgow gives you the opportunity to study digital design and development from an expert tutor. You’ll gain hands-on experience on real-world projects using industry standard software, and gain skills to begin or advance a career as a professional web designer.
This course is split into three stages – NQ Computing (Level 6), HNC Digital Design and Web Development and HND Web Development – that cover the latest technologies to help you develop websites that deliver content in various formats for computers, smartphones and tablets. You’ll learn HTML/CSS/JavaScript, PHP, mySQL and responsive frameworks and development technologies to create dynamic, engaging websites.
The first two stages are taught over one year and provide a broad range of skills including user experience, design and development. In the second stage, you focus on specific elements of Web development allowing you to build on your existing knowledge and apply it to a wide range of projects.
You’ll be given access to top-spec PC and Mac labs and industry-standard software, including full access to Adobe creative suite. You’ll also have opportunities to work on live client projects.
